The main deposits of Demantoid are located in Pakistan, Iran and Madagascar.

At the beginning of the XX century, the "Ural emerald" was especially honored by Carl Faberge, who used it for his works. Rings with the mineral are present in the collection of the famous jeweler Tiffany.
